How chin contouring treatment works
A series of small injections are placed into the fatty tissue under the chin. Once injected, deoxycholic acid metabolises the fat cells, allowing the body to absorb and excrete these cells.
Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid that forms naturally in the body and is responsible for breaking down fats from food. Chin contouring injections stimulate this natural process to target and metabolise submental fat (fatty tissue under the chin). This reduces stubborn fullness, giving you a lighter and balanced appearance.

Treatment can be a little uncomfortable. To help alleviate this, we administer local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable.
After treatment, the area may feel warm and a little sensitive – however this usually subsides quickly within 1–2 hours.
Swelling is expected and may last for a number of days. This is a natural response from the body’s defence mechanism.

Results are generally first noticed 4–6 weeks after your first treatment, and will continue to appear for up to 12 weeks. The deoxycholic acid gradually dissolves fat cells, so results appear subtly.
Deoxycholic acid permanently destroys fat. Therefore, the treated cells cannot come back. However, the fat that is not treated can and will expand, meaning it is still possible to accumulate fat deposits in this area if a healthy lifestyle is not followed.
