Overview

While we all sweat naturally, excessive sweating can be damaging to your confidence and hold you back socially and professionally.

This condition is surprisingly common and results in unnecessary worry about the simplest things – like shaking someone’s hand or which colour shirt to wear.

Hyperhidrosis is caused by overactive sweat glands. By administering small doses of neuromodulators (muscle relaxants) at precise spots, we can effectively block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.

Treatment is minimally invasive, with results lasting up to 12 months. Learn more in an initial consultation.

How a hyperhidrosis treatment works

Botulinum toxin (which is often associated with wrinkle reduction) is a proven and effective treatment for alleviating hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. By blocking the signals that cause overactivity of your sweat glands, this treatment may reduce how much you sweat by up to 87%.

Micro-doses of muscle relaxants (called neuromodulators) are injected into the affected area/s. Once the neuromodulator takes effect, overactive nerves are essentially paralysed, thereby stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.

A numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to help minimise discomfort. In most cases, only one treatment is required to see results, which may provide up to 12 months of relief from symptoms.

Your FAQ

Treatment is tolerable, however we do apply a numbing cream prior to the procedure for your comfort. Be aware that some areas of the body are a little more uncomfortable to treat, such as the feet.

Results typically last 3–12 months.
