We have a number of treatments to smooth, flatten and reduce scarring – plus helpful ways to treat painful, itchy or tender scars.
Overview
Scars are created by thick, fibrous tissue that forms after trauma occurs to healthy tissue. Depending on how the tissue damage occurred, scars present in many different ways: raised, discoloured, white, stretched or depressed.
As such, each scar requires treatment specific to the individual nature, appearance and presentation of the lesion. We offer a range of scar revision treatments, to ensure the best possible results.

How scar revision treatment works
Take comfort knowing there are multiple ways to treat scars. Treatment is tailored to each type of scarring you have, providing the best course of action to minimise the scar’s appearance.

Laser treatment
Suitable for acne scarring
By removing the outer layer of damaged skin, laser treatment is used to help flatten and improve the colour and texture of a scar. Laser can also target blood vessels within the lesion to help reduce redness.
BroadBand Light (BBL)
Suitable for acne scarring, redness and hyperpigmentation
BBL targets discoloration within a scar, such as brown or red pigmentation (otherwise known as PIH or PIE). Learn more about BBL .
Cortisone Injections
Suitable for hypertrophic and keloid scars
Injecting a corticosteroid solution directly into a hypertrophic or keloid scar may help reduce swelling, inflammation and size. Steroids break the bonds between collagen fibres, which reduces the amount of scar tissue beneath the skin.
Subcision
Suitable for depressed or rolling acne scars
Subcision targets the tough, underlying fibrous tissue that pulls at a scar and causes it to depress into the skin. A needle is used to break up the scar tissue to help lift the scar.
Topical applications
Suitable for surgical scars and burns
For certain scars, topical applications are effective at softening and flattening without invasive intervention. These treatments are also beneficial for relieving symptoms such as itching.
Microneedling
Suitable for acne scars and skin rejuvenation
Tiny needles help to minimise the appearance of scars by stimulating new collagen growth and encouraging your skin to heal and repair.
Surgery
Suitable for keloid and icepick scars
In instances of deep, substantial scarring, the scar may need to be surgically removed.
A treatment plan is discussed at time of consultation to determine the most appropriate treatment for the individual.
