As your skin naturally begins to lose its elasticity, the eyes are one of the first places to develop sagging skin. This simple procedure tightens skin, without the downtime of a surgical procedure.
The revolutionary Plaxpot technique uses plasma to stimulate the collagen and elastin generation. This plasma is the fourth state of matter (as opposed to the plasma found in blood).
Skin instantly tightens after treatment, and gradual collagen production occurs over the next 2–4 weeks to make skin look smooth and refresh your appearance.
How a Plaxpot Fibroblast Skin Tightening treatment works
The treatment is performed using a TGA-approved Plaxpot handpiece that converts an electrical energy output into nitrogen, then transmits it without touching the skin directly.
Top layers of the skin are subject to micro-trauma and the lower layers of tissue are disrupted with thermal conduction. The heat generated from this process also breaks down collagen in the dermis and layer of skin beneath the epidermis – and this is what triggers fibroplasia (your body’s wound-healing response).
During fibroplasia, fibroblast activity is increased, which produces new collagen. Surrounding tissue instantly retracts, tightening lax skin. Swelling only lasts for around 48 hours after treatment and healing takes 7–10 days, which is significantly less downtime than a surgical procedure.

Treatment results are permanent. But please be aware that even though skin laxity is improved and tightness increases, your skin will still continue to go through the ageing process in the coming years. This will cause further breakdown of collagen, renewed skin laxity, and the appearance of new wrinkles and other skin imperfections and blemishes. As this occurs, maintenance treatments can be performed.
On average, 2–4 treatments may be required. Age is considered for optimum results.
The pain is slightly uncomfortable, but generally tolerable. To ensure you are comfortable, a physician-grade topical numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment.
Swelling is completely normal for around 48 hours after treatment. Expect the plasma dots to remain on the treatment area for 7–10 days (it is essential that these dots are left to flake off rather than being picked off prematurely).
In your consultation, we will advise which creams and makeup you can wear on the treatment area until the dots have lifted.
