Reduce the effects of mild to moderate sleep apnoea and decrease snoring with this gentle laser treatment.

Suitable for: Sleep Apnoea, Snoring

Snoring can be a sign of sleep apnoea – a harmful condition that affects breathing during sleep.

Snoring can also occur in the absence of sleep apnoea, but in either case it can impact your relationship and your quality of sleep.

NightLase is a clinically proven laser treatment for snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnoea, providing an alternative to surgery and oral appliances. Laser effectively tightens the loose tissue that vibrates and causes snoring.

Overview

Even chronic snoring can be treated with the NightLase laser procedure for snoring.

This treatment is a simple and gentle way to start enjoying a good night’s sleep, with high success rates in improving sleep patterns affected by snoring and sleep apnoea.

Typically, snoring occurs when the airway is obstructed. This treatment opens up your airway by tightening the oral mucosa tissue responsible for your snoring. When laser light is applied to targeted tissue, it causes collagen and elastin stimulation to contract and tighten the tissue.

NightLase treatment strikes the ideal balance: it is gentle enough for sensitive tissue in the mouth and throat, yet powerful enough to provide clinically effective results.

How NightLase laser treatment for snoring works

A full course of NightLase consists of 3 separate treatment sessions over 6–12 weeks. Each session follows the same procedure.

The procedure works in two parts. First, the laser preheats the delicate tissue blocking the airway. Then our Er:YAG laser light strengthens this tissue.

Our patients report that NightLase is relatively comfortable and tolerable – both during and after the procedure.

Treatment is a viable alternative to surgery and the use of CPAP machines. In instances where a CPAP machine doesn’t provide enough relief, NightLase treatment can be performed to make the use of a CPAP machine more effective.

Prior to treatment, Dr Guy Kinsella performs an assessment to determine if you’re a suitable candidate. Book a consultation to see if NightLase could help to alleviate your snoring.

Your FAQ

A total of 3 treatments are required at 4-week intervals.

While effective at reducing snoring, NightLase treatment is not a permanent solution. The ageing process will cause a decline in collagen and elastin over time, and therefore symptoms may return. Optimal results may last for a number of years. If/when symptoms return, the procedure can be repeated.
